Metalizing
Mid Western has the ability to accommodate our customers with many spraying processes. Metalizing is a flame spray process using metal in a wire form. The wire is drawn through the gun and continuously melted by an oxyacetylene flame and atomized by a compressed air blast, which carries the molten particles to a prepared surface. Typical wires for metalizing include aluminum, copper, nickel, zinc, stainless steel, bronze and Babbitt.
Flame Spraying
The term Flame Spraying has been adopted to describe any process whereby a material is brought to its melting point and sprayed onto a surface to produce a coating. These processes now include Metalizing, Thermo Spraying and Plasma Spraying.
Thermo Spraying
Thermo Spraying is a type of flame - spraying equipment, which involves the application of metals and other materials in powder form. These include alloys of nickel-chromium, boron-silicon, tungsten- carbide mixtures, and ceramics such as aluminum and titanium dioxide.
Plasma Process
The most common materials deposited with this system are: nickel, cobalt, tungsten carbide blends, chrome carbides, molybdenum, monel, ceramic oxides of aluminum, titanium, chromium, zirconium
